The PhotoVoice Network is the first and only network of organisations and individuals directly involved in the field of participatory photography.

PhotoVoice is relaunching its international Network in Summer 2008. If you have already submitted an application to join and have not had a response please do not re-submit your details; you will be contacted soon with a status update.
The Network is based on PhotoVoice's belief that great benefits derive from bringing together the myriad of voices from participatory photography projects around the world.
These benefits include:
• enabling practitioners to share experiences and resources
• enabling the sharing of best-practice guidelines
• bringing professionalism and to the field and raising the profile of participatory photography
• enabling wider audiences to view the work and learn about issues depicted in projects
• creating stronger commercial possibilities for projects and participants
• enabling participants to exchange work with and learn about participants of other projects around the world.
PhotoVoice provides a number of resources and services through the Network which could help you establish and develop existing or future projects, and maximise their impact both on the beneficiaries and the issues they address through awareness raising and press work. PhotoVoice is constantly working to expand and develop these services, and welcomes suggestions from members on enhancements to the Network and its interactive website.
The PhotoVoice Network meets both virtually and physically. It is open to:
• individuals who have been on PhotoVoice training courses
• those who have run, or are running, a participatory photography project
• freelancers and volunteers who have worked on a PhotoVoice project.
Network membership is free and at the discretion of PhotoVoice. Membership will not be given to those simply with an interest in the field, or those who are considering possibly starting a project in the future. Members must have experience allowing them to contribute to, as well as benefit from, Network membership. PhotoVoice hopes to make part of the Network website public facing in the near future so that advancements in the field can be shared and promoted. Those considering starting a project of their own may be interested in purchasing the PhotoVoice Manual.
Please note that due to the quantity of applications we get it is not always possible to respond individually, and it may take some time before membership is processed.
