At Fairbridge we work with some of the
country’s most hard to reach young people
who are affected by issues
including family breakdown, substance abuse
and homelessness.
Each young person uses our programme of activities,
designed to improve core skills such as literacy,
numeracy and communication, to determine personal goals
and make positive changes to turn their life around.
The collaboration with PhotoVoice has given the young people a
chance to work with professional photographers encouraging
them to express themselves creatively.
In amongst our other courses, the media of film and photography
offer a key way to help them do this – giving them a platform to
share their voice and a process by which we can support their
development.
