PhotoVoice Bursary Scheme
In September 2008 PhotoVoice was delighted to launch its new bursary scheme, aimed at supporting photographers trained through participatory photography projects to continue developing their skills and explore opportunities for work placements or further study, andto support practitioners seeking to develop small-scale participatory photography projects in line with PhotoVoice's philosophy and outlook. This year's bursaries were made possible through the generous support of The John Kobal Foundation.
For its pilot year, PhotoVoice chose to concentrate on individuals who would benefit from grants for personal development, and participants from recent PhotoVoice projects were invited to apply. In total, sixteen bursaries were awarded, covering equipment needs, training, and the costs associated with personal projects such as travel expenses.
PhotoVoice hopes to invite applications for 2009-10 in September 2009, and details will be posted on this website along with eligibility requirements. To ensure you are notified when applications open subscribe to the PhotoVoice Newsletter, or for further details email matt@photovoice.org.
