Photographs by Iraqi Civilians, 2004, is the result of a project undertaken by the Daylight Community Arts Foundation, Inc., to distribute disposable cameras to civilians in Iraq from May, 2004 through to the present day. For the project, DCAF distributed cameras to civilians living in Baghdad and Fallujah. The resulting photographs appeared in the Summer 2004 issue of Daylight Magazine and was expanded into a nationally touring exhibition through a partnership with Pixel Press.
The exhibition 'Photographs by Iraqi Civilians', continues to tour various universities around the United States. The exhibition has been featured in the New Yorker, CNN, The LA Times, Brazil TV, Russia TV and on NHK (Japan). In addition the George Eastman House purchased a selection of the Iraqi Civilian photographs for their permanent collection.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization, co-founded by Michael Itkoff and Taj Forer, that strives to establish community-based documentary partnerships in various locations throughout the world. Their belief is that the production of documentary imagery and text addressing issues of social importance can empower individuals and communities to affect lasting change.The Foundation publishes Daylight Magazine.
