Side-by-Side: Photography by Israeli and Palestinian youth

In July of this year, a group of fourteen Palestinian and Israeli children will complete an ambitious six-month photographic project which hopes to not only achieve dialogue between the students, but to give a voice to a group whose perspective we rarely hear. Local exhibitions are planned in Israel and East Jerusalem, with an international exhibition set to take place in London. PhotoVoice is currently seeking sponsorship to enable the young participants to come to the UK to see the impact of their work. If you can help, please contact anna@photovoice.org.

Children's Forum, Nepal: Photography by Bhutanese refugee youth

PhotoVoice’s Matt Daw recently returned from the Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal where he spent a week setting up a fully equipped darkroom and photo centre for the use of young refugees trained in photography as part of PhotoVoice’s work with the Children’s Forum, supported by Comic Relief.

The darkroom is housed in a new building built by PhotoVoice, and will allow the young people to run a professional photo studio and earn income to support the project's future activities. The new building will also house a photo library, an office and meeting room. A separate hall for events, classes and visiting speakers has been constructed alongside it.
