Following the sell-out success of Martin Parr's lecture in November, the PhotoVoice Photographers' Lecture Series continues into 2008 with legendary British fashion and celebrity photographer John Swannell lined up to talk about his extraordinary life in pictures: from his subtly lit portraits of the British monarchy to his classically composed nudes and distinctive panoramic rural landscapes. He has also generously offered himself up as a raffle prize - the lucky winner of which will enjoy a one-off opportunity to spend a day with him in his studio.

Resolution Photography: Show & Live Auction

Nottingham based arts organisation View from the Top generously supported PhotoVoice through their open photography show, Resolution. On Saturday 9th the show culminated with an auction of the work on show, with 10% of profits being donated to PhotoVoice. A print from PhotoVoice's Side-by-Side project, pictured on the right, was also auctioned on the day.

A guide to designing and running participatory photography projects
Priced at £25, this high-quality 130pp A5 spiral-bound book has been produced in response to the many enquiries we received at PhotoVoice requesting advice on how to set up and run participatory photography projects. The manual is targeted at existing practitioners of participatory photography as well as photographers, community arts practitioners, NGO's and freelance project facilitators who are interested in gaining new insights and tips into how to empower marginalised groups through photography.
