PhotoVoice South West Coast Path Challenge

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May, PhotoVoice supporters took part in an incredible walk along the magnificent coasts of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset to raise vital funds to support our work.

Each team took on one of 24 sections of the stunning South West Coast Path, a 630 mile stretch of coast that runs from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

No sponsored walk by any serious and reputable photographic charity would have been complete without a little photographic competition to while away the hours in a time-honoured fashion. PhotoVoice invited participants to take the three classic genres of photography - portraiture, wildlife and landscape, and interpret them through the geographically fitting theme of Magic & Mystery.

The South West Coast Path: This path is the longest and arguably the most varied and attractive National Trail in the UK. It was made throughout history by fishermen, farmers, miners, smugglers, coastguards and patient soldiers watching for invasions which never came. The path provides wonderful vistas seen only by those who walk; leads on to magnificent beaches and reveals secret coves and almost forgotten fishing villages. The South West Coast Path is for all lovers of the countryside (photographers, bird watchers, botanists, geologists, historians, archeologists) and those (like us) dedicated to discovering friendly pubs, good food and a well-deserved pint or three at the end of a hard day's walk.
