Martin Parr Lecture

On 13 November, over 700 people gathered to hear acclaimed photographer Martin Parr give the final sell out lecture in the Magnum Series at the Royal Geographical Society, London.
Martin's work - focused on themes of British identity and the preposterousness of modern life - has earned him an international reputaton for its oblique approach to social documentary and for its innovative imagery.
Martin captivated and amused the audience with fascinating insights into the influences and attitudes that have shaped his provocative photographic style. His lecture was followed by a book signing, with over 100 copies of his books including Retrospective and Small World bought on the night.
PhotoVoice would like to extend its thanks to Chris Boot Ltd, Dewi Lewis Publishing and Phaidon Ltd for donating 40% of all book sales to PhotoVoice.
Guests were also invited to view an exhibition of photographs by young separated refugees in London trained in photojournalism skills by PhotoVoice.
