BAPLA Picture Buyer's Fair
BAPLA / PhotoVoice auction
at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London, N1
on 11th May 2005 from 7.00pm
PhotoVoice is proud to announce an auction of photographic prints to be held at the 30th anniversary BAPLA Picture Buyers' Fair on Wednesday 11th May. This event has been made possible through the generous support of BAPLA, the UK association representing over 440 image suppliers, and through the generosity of the donating agencies and photographers.
All funds raised through the print sales will be used to further PhotoVoice's projects which work around the world to empower marginalised groups through training in photographic skills.
Donating picture libraries, all of which are BAPLA members, include Alinari Archives, FLPA Images, John Birdsall Social Issues Photo Library, The Kobal Collection, Magnum Photos, The Marsden Archive, Offside Sports Photography, Pictures of Britain, Redferns Music Picture Library, Reuters, Rex Features akg-images Ltd, Science Photo Library, Camera Press and TIPS Images Ltd.
Donated images, many of which have never been available before as commercial prints, include a classic portrait of Miles Davies, donated by Rex Features and a stunning aerial landscape from Yann Arthus Bertrand's Earth from the Sky series. All images will be auctioned framed and carry a minimum reserve of £150.
