PhotoVoice is delighted to announce that its 6th Auction of Exceptional Photographs was a huge success, defying the credit crunch to bring in over £100,000! This is a new record and a tribute to the superb quality of prints that PhotoVoice is fortunate enough to receive from generous donating photographers and galleries.

Visitors had the opportunity not only to bid on prints by legendary photographers such as Lee Miller, Sarah Moon, Martin Parr, Herb Ritts, George Rodger and John Swannell but also on 2007’s winner of the World Press Photo of the Year by Tim Hetherington, an original print of Twiggy by the photographer who discovered her, Barry Lategan and ‘one to watch’ Ivor Prickett, winner of the Ian Parry Award 2007. Other contributors include Jane Bown, Nick Danziger, Jillian Edelstein, Stephen Gill, Marc Riboud and John Stanmeyer.

Huge thanks go to all the contributing photographers and galleries, the hard working volunteers who gave up their evening and made sure the evening went smoothly, all those who came and supported PhotoVoice by bidding, and our superb guest auctioneer Jeffrey Archer, who did an incredible job encouraging bidders and making the whole evening entertaining and enjoyable for all.
